The course is studied in terms of two major aspects Management as a form of art where the student must learn to develop his own style of management, the different styles and how to acquire each style and see the positive and negative aspects. Management as a science can also be acquired through the development of quantitative skills as well as appreciating the development different management schools of thought contributed by management experts through the years. The businessman in a free enterprise society faces certain obstacles due to his failure to discern and appreciate the changing social and cultural values of the consumers. A good businessman must understand how people, organization and institutions function and operate to enable him to plan properly. The recognition of the responsibility of the business enterprise to its investors, consumers, suppliers, the government must also be understood to enable it to fulfill its obligations. A study of man and his relationship with nature is the core of this course. As a thinking animal, his evolution and the purpose of his existence, his progress in civilizatiion and the development of his scientific thought, and the arts, industry and technology and the future of mankind will be explored.
